| The Wahl pen company started life in 1905, building adding machines. The
purchase of the Eversharp Pencil Company in 1914 put them in the business of
writing instruments, and in 1917 they moved into the fountain pen market,
with the acquisition of the Boston Fountain Pen Company.
The first Wahl Eversharp pens were the Tempoint, and they proved to be very
successful for Wahl. The all-metal pens introduced shortly afterwards proved
even more successful, available in several materials and sizes, these pens
were of very high quality, and are today sought after by collectors,
especially in the larger sizes. |

| The Deco Band Personal Point pens were introduced in 1928, as Wahl's premier
line. These large pens were considered top of the line, with an
inter-changeable nib/feed assembly that could be fitted in the section. This
allowed a customer to select a pen, and then choose from fourteen different
nibs for the perfect combination. They were guaranteed unconditionally, with
the Gold Seal mark on the cap. The pens were first made in Black and Pearl,
Coral, Jade, Lapis Blue, and Rosewood. Black was added in 1929, and the
wonderful Green and Bronze in 1930. Today, the Deco Band is among the most
highly prized of collectible fountain pens form the Golden Age of pens. |

| The Doric was Wahl Eversharps effort to capture the market for a more
streamlined, modern appearing pen. Introduced in late 1930 or early 1931,
the Doric has a twelve sided cap and barrel. Like the Deco Band pens, they
were available with the Gold Seal guarantee. The original colors offered
were Jet, Morocco, Cathay, Cashmere, and Burma, these were respectively,
black, burgundy marble, light green marble, dark green marble, and dark gray
marble.
In 1932, the adjustable nib was introduced. A small sliding metal piece
allowed the nib to be adjusted for flexibility. These nibs were made in
several sizes, and were available until 1939. In 1935, the Dorics received a
new style clip, without the Roller Ball, and in addition a new plunger vac
filling system was added to the line. New colors, including lined marble in
green, brown, gray, blue, and burgundy were added. |

| The Skyline was the first pen introduced after the reorganization of the
company in 1940. Launched in 1941, it was a very new look, radically
streamlined, with a domed cap top. Produced in very large numbers throughout
the war, the Skyline kept Wahl Eversharp afloat for a few more years. They
were made in several colors, Black, Green, Blue, Brown and Gray, in both
plastic cap as well as gold fill and solid gold cap versions. There were
also brown, blue, burgundy, and gray stripe moiré cap and barrels, and gold
fill and solid 14K gold cap and barrel models. |
