Raymond is correct. The section and barrel are glued (or ultrasonically-welded -- I'm not sure) together. Send it back and Pelikan will probably pull your filler unit and your nib and install them into a new section/barrel unit. If it's cheaper for them, they may even give you a new pen minus nib/feed unit, using your nib/feed unit instead. WJD. |

Hi Daniel:
I don't know if the leaking is common in Pelikan, but it did happen to my MontBlanc 149. You have to send it back to Pelikan for repair. At least for my MontBlanc, it came back perfect and was free. I think they had to re-glue it. |

My 1.5 year old Pelikan M 800 has recently begun to leak at the joint where the green sleeve meets the black...right where I grip it when writing.
I am a newcomer to FPs and I chose a Pelikan because I was told they were very well made.
Is this tpe of leaking common in Pelikans? And can it be repaired?
Thanks for your advice.

| His Nibs.com: Monteverde Practicas have arrived!
|
| |
11/27/2002: Norman Haase |
|
Hello all!
After being backordered for several months, the new Monteverde Practica
has finally arrived. This is a rollerball, but before all my fellow fountain pen
collectors turn up your noses, the pen makes use of Monteverde's
innovative "Capless Fluid System" refill -- and it is smooth. Being liquid
ink, it even beats some of my fountain pens for smoothness.
What's really neat is that the pen has a push/click mechanism like a
ballpoint, but with the new capless refill (it can remain uncapped for a year)
it provides terrific writing characteristics with one-handed ease of use. It
comes in 6 finishes that are really gorgeous, and all can be seen here:

| Michigan Pen Show-A Review
|
| |
11/26/2002: Terry Mawhorter |
|
Thanks go out to Lih-Tah Wong and Sean Stillwell plus their families and members of the Michigan pen club for organizing another Michigan Pen Show. This was my second year in a row to attend and I have attended off and on in years past. There were about 50 tables set up on Sat and Sun. The traffic was acceptable on both days but lighter of course on Sunday. The Detroit metro area should produce a bigger turn out of folks interested in pens. I sold better on Sunday both this year and last. This tends to support the feeling that two day shows to the public are better. The hotel was great. Thanks to the Michigan pen club for the free pizza/soda on Friday. Thanks to Jim Dolive, Total Office Products and Sam and Frank for the coffee on Sat and Sun. I bought two pens for my collection, a sterling ring top Fairchild pen and a dip pen with high relief birds and flowers. Mike Krut was the entertaining auctioneer on Sat afternoon for an auction that had few interesting items. Still, great fun! Delta Pens provided some great door prizes on Sat and Sun. This show deserves better support then it got this year. I plan on returning next year. Next show up is Philly on Jan 18th and 19th check out www.phillypenshow.com |

Try one and *only* one turn of Teflon tape between 1/8" and 1/4" wide. Any more and you risk cracking the barrel. This pen was abused so it's probably weakened already. You may also wish to try the "oven" method as described by Frank Dubiel in "Da Book." http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=%2B%22da+book%22+%2B%22frank+dubiel%22&btnG=Google+Search |

11/25/2002: Dave |

I've got a 1947-48 Sheaffer Triumph nib piston fill (Vacuum-fil) Balance, and I'm looking for a replacement piston washer. I saw on some board that Fr. Terry Koch is no longer selling them, so if anyone can point me to an alternate source I would appreciate it. Alternately, if someone can suggest a readily availible material in a suitable thickness I can punch out replacement washer pretty easily. Perhaps a nitrile washer? Any suggestions appreciated.
Thanks,

| Click Fountain Pen

11/25/2002: Bill Stevens |

Tom -- If by a click fountain pen you mean one with a retractable point, it was probably a Namiki Vanishing Point. You can get an idea of prices by looking at some of the pen stores listed on the Penlovers home page. |
| re: A click fountain pen
|
| |
11/25/2002: Waco Johnny D |
|
That was the Namiki/Pilot Vanishing Point. The pen has been around in one form or another for decades. A good reliable pen as long as the clip doesn't get in your way while you're writing with the pen (try the pen to be sure, before you buy). The pen can be had at significant discounts at the usual mail/Web stores: swisherpens, fountainpenhospital, fahrneyspens, etc. Don't forget Japanese nibs run on the fine side, e.g. an American fine point is roughly equivalent to a Japanese medium. | Parker Pen Co DC3 aircraft
|
| |
11/25/2002: Len Provisor |
|
The last order for production of the Parker DC3 corporate aircraft models
has been placed.
There is still time to add to this order, but only up to Dec 31, 2002.
The Douglas DC3 are among the most famous aircraft in the world.
These models are accurate reproductions made from original factory
blueprints and Parker family photo archives. Intensive research and
documentation of details make these models the most accurate that can be
possibly produced.
Hand carved from solid wood - hand painted in accurate detail true to the
original aircraft.
18" wingspan, pin mounted to a pen rest base, removeable so model can be
hung from ceiling over your pen collection or as a store display.
Space saving wall mount arms are also available.
There are two models being offered, your choice of :
The 1954 N51A DC3, dedicated to the then flagship of the Parker line, the
Parker "51" pen
The 1960 N61A DC3, dedicated to the then new Parker 61 fountain pen.
Each model is personally signed by Geoffrey S. Parker, great grandson of
George S. Parker.
Extremely low production of perhaps only 100 models, making this a very
desireable piece of Parker
Pen Company ephemera.
All prior models of 1927 Parker Duofold (2000) and 1947 Beechcraft "51"
(2001) are sold out.
Only a few are available from a few select dealers.
Visit historical and model images at WWW.INKBLOTTERS.COM You can turn on your computer speakers to actually hear these famous DC3
engines.
Pricing and shipping information on website
Unconditionally guaranteed for one year. Safely shipping world wide.
The first partial production of these aircraft models are now en route to me
and will be shipping soon.

doll-pen models. As usual, I'm not able to order specific models, so in
many cases I have only one or two of each -- so if there's one that strikes
your fancy, order it immediately -- as I probably won't be able to get it in
again. To indicate what I mean, following the link below for the current
models, I've also provided a link to all of the models already permanently
retired. They go quickly!

Avoid the ebay hassle! Here are three beauties that I'm offering. If they don't sell by 6:00pm Sunday even PDT, they will be listed on ebay. 1) Montblanc 146 marked "Germany" pre serial numbered pen, seems to never been used, maybe filled once, but the transparent section is perfectly clear. No scratches, drawer wear, etc. Trim, cap and barrel are prefect. 14k single tone nib in very smooth fine nib. If you are looking for one of these, look no further. I have a spare black plastic Montblanc (correct) box that I will include with the pen. $135 plus $6.00 insured USA postage. 2) Near mint very sharp and crisp Parker 75 Cisele Sterling USA made (the heavier silver), dimpled ended, with smooth medium nib. This pen has no dings and looks to have seen minimal use. Grids are sharp with no tarnishing and even black pattern. A great example of a classic pen. Comes with the correct metal convertor. $90 plus $5 insured usa postage. 3) Parker 75 Cisele French Made cap actuated Ballpoint. This pen appears to have never seen any use, as it still retains its matte finish. Of course, no dings, dents, etc. This is mint. $75 INCLUDES usa postage, insurance extra. Usual rules, first confirming email gets 'em. Do not delay, as if they are not sold by 6:00pm Sunday PST, they go to ebay. Thanks Jon R |

|
The PENguin has been busy at the Columbus Pen Show and settling into his new teaching gig at San Jose State University, so this update is waaaay late.
We've added some great seasonal (Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwaanza) gift giving pens, Parker 51s and Pelikan 400s, as well as a really uncommon burgundy Pelikan M600 and several Pelikan 100s, great 800s in the old style and lots of tempting other goodies. On the Parker page check out the Vacs and 75s.
Not listed (but they'll be up in a few days) are a Conklin 3NL, a black Waterman's 100 year Supersize, a black Sheaffer's Balance Oversize.
Also, the Waterman's 56 set is now further reduced, first $700 takes it.

| Kreisler pen refills?
|

11/22/2002: mariluz |
|
My dad has an old Kreisler ballpoint pen that he asked me to find refills for. The old Kreisler-point refill says it was made in Bergen NJ and has #64000 written on it. It is 4 5/8 in long, and 1/8 in diam. The end of it has a male-threaded cap that screws onto the female-threaded barrel. Any idea whether or not refills might be available that would fit this pen? |

| Michigan Pen Show
|

11/22/2002: Sam - Pendemonium |
|
Greetings Penlovers!
We're off to Detroit this morning for the Michigan Pen Show, the last pen show this year. Always a friendly and very hospitable show and great for both vintage and modern pens. The Michigan Pen Collectors group has been putting this show together for a long time, you won't be disappointed. See you there! Show details on their website: www.michpens.com
We'll have some special deals, too - select Clairefontaine Journals for only $3, a stack of gift boxed glass pens for $5 each and some other surprises. See us early at the show to take advantage of these deals while they last.
In between packing for the show, we got the website updated with a bunch of recent arrivals: Check for vintage Parkers, Sheaffers (a great bunch of snorkels in unusual colors), also additions to our Other Pen Page: Onoto, Mabie Todd, Burnham and others.
We'll get back from Detroit Monday, gather out wits about us and resume shipping on Wednesday. Take a break for Turkey Day on Thursday and then we are having a Holiday Open House on Friday and Saturday at the shop. If you need a quick weekend getaway after the Thanksgiving festivities, stop on by. The Fort Madison Holiday Fest will be in progress all weekend. Aside from pens, inks and all our other writing things, we'll have live music both Fri and Sat afternoons, tempting treats and drawings for a bunch of items useful to pen people. More info on our open house is on the website under News and Updates.
Look forward to seeing you at the Michigan Pen Show!
Good Collecting! Sam

| Visconti Traveling Ink Pot

11/22/2002: Saul |
|
I have an older one of these, and I cannot figure out how it works.
There are four sections: one end is long and clear, the next section is long and black and has a
pinhole at the end that screws into the clear one and an "O" ring at the other, then there is a short
black section closed at one end, and the other end piece is a short black section with a piece of felt
on it.
What section holds the ink? How and from what section do I fill a pen? Are there any instructions
perhaps on the web that anyone can point me to? And finally, would PR Naples ink be OK, or would
Aurora black be better? Thanks to anyone for whatever help. |

I've also included a few related books, titles that I've read and liked, such as _War Letters,_ edited by Andrew Carroll. Treat yourself. Treat a friend. Drop hints. Enjoy yourself! Can someone help me identify a Montblanc I have.It looks like a #246 but it has a button filler not a piston filler. I was told some while back that it may have been made in denmark. It has a number 6 engraved on the nib. I have now been told it may be a #6 pen. It is 5 1/8 inches closed. I intend to sell the pen and I want to describe it properly. It is in very close to near mint condition. Any help would be appreciated. |

hello-
weeeelllll. I once again find myself loitering intermittently in Syracuse, NY for a few weeks.
Would be quite interested to get together with other collectors in the area for dinner, shmooze and pen show-and-tell. Preferably at some easy landmark i can actually find, like the Carousel Mall.
If any collectors reside in Syracuse or nearby regions, and mite like to try this next monday or tuesday evening, please do give a yell. I have a bit of show-and-tell with me, as Detroit Show is pending, but while small in quantity, perhaps interesting stuff.

This weekend is the Michigan Pen Show, the last of the year. I want to wish the Michigan collectors and organizers great success. I have been to the Michigan show several times and was planning on attending this year with Dan Zazove, but a luck would have it, work (my day job) is keeping me tied down and Dan had some last minute commitments he could not break. Lih-Tah and his fellow organizers have put in a great effort and the show looks like it will be a wonderful experience for those who attend. Those who can attend should look for Mike Conway who will be bringing loads of great Parker material etc. He is accompanied by my other parnter, Mike Fultz, who will be bringing some fine pens and lots of jewelry as gift items. I cannot say enough about attending pen shows for the entire experience it offers collectors - pens, fellowship, education, experience and not necessarily in that order. So treat yourself this weekend and go to Michigan! |

Hi everyone -- just a quick reminder to encourage all within a reasonable distance to attend the 13th annual Michinga Pen and Watch show this week. The action starts Thursday evening and continues through the weekend. Both Saturday and Sunday are public days and you can attend both days for one low price. Some of the best pen and watch dealers in the country (and perhaps from other parts of the world) will be there, selling a huge variety of new and vintage pens, accessories and watches. Last year's show was a great success. I'll be there Friday through Sunday with loads of vintage pens for sale, including a large selection of Diamond Medals, Gold Bonds, Moores, Parkers, etc. Also some of the more unusual and harder to find brands, like Monroe, Schnell and Security. Hope to see you there!

For sale: Montblanc Limited Edition Rose Gold 149. This is the largest and most desirable of them all. The gold parts are Rose Gold, rather than the usual yellow gold. The pen comes in its original box, which is still in the original shrink-wrap.
Please keep in mind that we have special holiday pricing on many Parker, Waterman, and other pens. We have a few dipped Parker 51’s left, Red and Blue Mosaic, Centennials of various finishes, and more. Thank you and Happy Holidays!

I am looking for information on Chilton Wing-Flow fountain pens. I am trying to determine the value of a pen I have. It has a black and brown pearl-like inlay, with three brass rings on the cap. The cap also has a brass "lanyard loop" (forgive my terminology :) ). The pen is slightly over 3 1/2 inches open, te cap being about 1 1/2 inches long. Closed, it is almost 4 inches. The nib appears to be gold, with the words "Warranted", "Wing-Flow" and "U.S.A." It is a pump filler, with a vent hole in the middle of the nib. Any information will be greatly appreciated. I am looking for a gold plated ball point pen made during the 70's that had a floral repousse pattern. I had one but lost it and have been looking ever since. | Transitional Balance
|
| |
11/17/2002: Steve Smith |
|
AFAIK,the problem with the Transitional Balance (TB) is that one can make a TB out of more common pens since most Balance caps can be mixed and matched with flattop Lifetime caps, and vice versa. One could take a flattop and a Balance of the same color and make a TB and even make a rare one of a kind innverse TB with a flattop cap on a Balance pen. To paraphrase Frank Dubiel, pen companies used the parts they had in order to make pens they could sell. So what is the value of a semi rare pen which can be made of common parts? If you have a pen made up of a barrel, section, nib and cap which are all identical to those on a TB, but your parts left the factory as parts of a flattop and a Balance, what then? Do you have a transitional Balance? And in 99.99% of cases how would you know? |

Hello all!
I'm offering a special 30%-off 3-day sale on two of the 14K-gold nib Hero
series, which runs until end-of-day on Tuesday, November 19th (the Monthly
Special doesn't apply to these sale items).
First up is the '200' series, which was designed as an homage to the
Parker 75. In fact, many 75 collectors have told me that the parts are
interchangeable!
There are 3 versions of the pen, all with fine nibs.
All-Steel $45.00 $31.50 on sale
Brushed Steel $55.00 $38.50 on sale
Golden Waves $95.00 $66.50 on sale
See the complete series here:
http://www.hisnibs.com/'200'_series.htm
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Also on sale is the gorgeous, oversized '900' series, consisting of the
Palladium and 22K Golden Waves models. These are pens that really make
a statement, and sport a rarity among Hero models...a nib that can actually
be considered a medium!
Although not really visible in the scans, the caps are very distinctive, as
they sport a good-sized CZ 'jewel' in the top. These pens are part of Hero's
higher-end 'Doctor' series, and the name Doctor is engraved upon the cap.
Guess who I've sold the majority of these to?
$125.00 $87.50 on sale
See both pens here:

Could anyone tell me if this really exists?
Supposedly Sheaffer created a Balance pen with the flattop cap in about 1930. Is this true?
If so, does anyone know where I can get a jade one?
Thank you very much.

| Pelikan M800 OLD STYLE for sale!

11/16/2002: Jon Rosenbaum |

Here's something for the penster who acts quickly! I have Pelikan M800 OLD STYLE with the gold plated disk at the bottom ot the barrel and gold plated logo on the cap top. So much nicer than the so-called new model! The pen is in classic green stripe, shows no signs of wear, but may have been filled. It is equiped with a beautiful smooth two-tone 14k xf nib, which looks more like a fine to me. No box. Price is $155 including domestic insured USA shipping. The pen will be offered until about 6:00pm PST Sunday. If it hasn't sold, it will be listed on ebay. If you've been looking for a really nice Pelly, this is it. Don't hesitate, as it may be gone quickly. Thanks Jon R |

Hi.
Not sure how it happened, but seems i will be attending the Michigan show next week for couple days. Never been before. Heard good things about it.
Anyway, first- if any familiar (or unfamiliar) names and faces wanna grab snack saturday nite or sunday lunch, do give ayell.
Second. Wish list.
Heck, not even sure what to request :-) Not too many Vacumatics , aside from ones i cannot afford even if i find them, that are needed. I suppose
1) Vacumatic Pencil *SENIOR* model with thin-FAT-thin Triple band. Either black or silver-striped colors
2) Weird early variants.
3) Vac-Band and Golden Arrow stuff.
Hope to see lots of list members there!
Regards
david

About two weeks ago I received an email from Ebay (sorry Dean) asking me to verify and update my dealer data. It was quite offical, presented on an ebay (sorry again Dean) letterhead in the usual colors. Since I was busy at the time I deleted it, assuming I'd hear from them at a later date. About a week later I got the same email a 2nd time and decided to review the request. They asked for some very confidential data, such as my password, bank, checking account number, routeing numbers, credit card data which seemed odd, since they had it on file with my password, and similar data. When I asked Mary Ann & Steve Zucker, they told me that it was a scam that had been posted on Zoss ( oop's sorry again Dean) and that I should contact Ebay at once , which I did. A few days later I heard from Ebay and they confirmed the scam , which was already under investigation. If any of you receive similar requests,DON'T ANSWER IT, FORWARD THE MESSAGE DIRECTLY TO EBAY. |

Sorry for the delay folks! We've just added a review of the Ohio Pen Show, by David Isaacson to this month's issue of Stylophiles.
Not so much a "show review", though, as a "complete show experience"! He tried to get as many interesting pens in there as he could, so it's a chance to see some very unusual pens from Parker, Moore, and John Holland!

| Re: Stipula Etruria
|
| |
11/15/2002: Dean |
|
I have two Stipulas one is the Iris with the retractable nib and the other is the Amber Etruria 2002. Both of these are very good writers with plenty of ink flow and nice responsive nibs. I have inked and used both of them daily for several months without problems. The Etruria has on minor flaw though, when I leave it set with ink in it for several days it tends to dry out and needs a turn of the piston to get it flowing again. But as a daily writer this was not a problem, only when I left it sit un-used for several days.
My overall opinion, these are very nice pens. Dean

We have just received our first shipment of these pens with fine and medium points from Sailor. We only received a limited quantity of each color and some will probably sell out faster than the others. To ensure you get the colors you want, please order early. I doubt we will have time to receive a second shipment in time for the Holiday's and if they are as popular at the broad points, we will probably sell out very quickly. These pens will make
excellent stocking stuffers (especially the red ones for the teacher on your list ;-). For additional information and photos, please visit our "What's New" page at the following link:
http://www.swisherpens.com/New_Items/New_items.html (there's also a button to our What's New page on our Home Page). We also expect our first shipment of the "RT" (retractable) Innovation Gel Pens around the first week of December (these will only be available with broad points). To reserve your Innovation "RT" Gel Pens, please e-mail Chun Lee at chun@swisherpens.com. For additional information about the New Sailor "RT" Gel Pens, please read Nibless Pens in this month's Stylophiles. Thanks for reading, we appreciate your business.

That "annoying feature" was entirely my fault. That page is primarily put there so that folks can bookmark it and thus always be able to get to the current "Table of Contents" of Stylophiles. At a recent Penlovers dinner we discussed this topic and I the almighty producer was made to drink my wine out of a straw like children drink their Juicy-juice boxes. I lost, and though my ego was crushed, for the betterment of Penlovers that little annoying feature is gone. But watch out if I have to code that editorial gun again or a Stylophiles centerfold, then all bets will be off and maybe I’ll come up with a new annoying feature. So I take the blame and I get the fame cause now its gone. Dean |

Let me add my thanks to Terry and Sonya Mawhorter for another terrific pen show. As always the perfect hosts. From my arrival Thursday we were hosted and toasted by PCA's wine and cheese reception the pizza night, and desert night where I actually had a Maki-e chocolate bon bon, sprinkled with real gold dust. Not a wrinkle or complaint the whole weekend, it was non-stop fun with pens, seeing old friends and walking the room in search of those great relics called pens. Bought a few and sold a few, but the greatest pleasure was the virtual museum of pens from many traders and collectors who gathered to share their treasures and never ending stories. Did I tell you the one I heard about the pilots who went to pick up their new Sheaffer Corporate Cessna and were handed a Parker pen to sign the release...? |

To all who participated in the pen show, a great "THANK YOU!" To those who came away with some great pen buys, you were fortunate--thumbs up. I think I speak for all. As always, Terry and Sonya hosted a fabulous weekend with grace and decorum and abundant good cheer. Since I am happy to be alive this year, for me, it was quite gratifying to embrace old friends and, as well, to make new ones. As a staff member of the Mawhorter team, I can't remember a time when work was more of pleasure. Wine and cheese, pizza and pastry, all good, but seeing all of you was much better! Here's to next year!

We're back from the Ohio Pen Show, today we'll spend getting everything unpacked and catching up on a few leftover inquiries we received while on the road. Shipping will resume on Wednesday, Nov 6th. For those of you who subscribe to our Inky Greetings e-newsletter, we should have an issue out late this week which will include some of the great pens we found at the show and along the way.
Thanks to all of you who stopped by our exhibit at the show in Columbus! Great to see so many pen collectors gathered together. Appreciate all of your purchases. As always, the best part of the show is getting to see our old pen-friends and make some new acquaintenances. Tip of the hat to Terry and Sonya Mawhorter and their show staff who pulled off, yet again, a well attended show sprinkled with educational seminars, food for all and just a wonderful weekend for pen collectors. It doesn't get much better than this!!
Good Collecting! Sam

most likely not just the nib but the
entire pen is a replacement, i.e., a fake.
such fake montblancs are made all over the place like fake rolexes, gucci, and other designer 'big names'. nathan tardiff once enclosed a lagniappe with a delayed package, which turned out to be a heavy, thin, all-metal fake montblanc with the selfsame 'iridium tip' deal on the nib. such pens are most likely made in china or other asian countries, and work their way to the european countries through buys from ebay and foreign visits. all this should not detract you from enjoying the pen: these fakes are often more hardy and reliable (like bastard children sown in the wild!) than the oh-so-delicate precious resin products of montblanc, that are liable to crack if you raise your voice. |

Its now early Sunday am and this show has, as usual, been great so far. All tables are packed, there are over 100. The show is open to the public both Sat and Sun and yesterday's crowd was heavy. What's better yet is that they seemed to be a buying crowd not just tire kickers. I've seen a lot of nice pens change hands so far and made a find or two myself including an eversharp pencil covered in alligator hide. It has a price tag of $35! That was a huge amount back then. I didn't make it to the auction last night but perhaps someone else will report on that. I'm hoping for an even larger crowd today and I see its time for me to be getting ready to head down. |

Just as when you purchase a used car there is no guarantee the engine or transmission weren't replaced by a previous owner, there's no guarantee a used pen, sight unseen and questions unasked and information not volunteered, consists of all its original parts. WJD. |

I bought 2 Parker 51's from an antique shop and need to get the plastic foresection that covers the nib. Both are black.Where would I look and what might I expect to pay?
On a more delicate topic, I'm having a very difficult time getting a seller on one of the major pen auction sites to send the pen.
I sent an International Postal Money Order to Canada for the agreed amount, the seller has cashed the money order and has stopped communicating.
I've contacted the auction site twice, asking for assistance and have gotten no response.
Any attorneys out there that might be able to give me some advice?
Thanks!

You will need to unscrew the cap jewel. That's the secret. Getting good purchase on it will be the trick. You can try mashing the jewel down into soft rubber of some type while you turn the cap CCW. Frank Dubiel explains clip repair as well as most all other aspects of FP repair in his Guide to Repair and Restoration; email him at FDubiel@aol.com for how to obtain, or purchase the book at numerous online sites (Pendemonium, Fountain Pen Hospital, Woodbin, and others). As I have said many times, "Da Book" will pay for itself with the first pen you do NOT break because of the knowledge you gained therein. WJD. |

I have a 1943 standard vacumatic and I made the horrible mistake of loaning it for just a second to a collegue to jot a note while she was on the phone. When she handed it back to me she had, without thinking about it, slipped her thumbnail under the clip and pushed up, a "nervous habit" of hers it seems. Well, after completely freaking out I regained composure. She felt really awful (but not as bad as I felt) and offered to have me take it to a jeweler and pay to have it repaired. Unfortunately, there are no good repair people around here. Fortunately, she's bent it so that it's still a striaght line, it doesn't have that awful curve in it. I've done some repairs on pens before, and so I feel like I could do something fairly easy like this, I just need to figure out how to remove the clip.
I believe that there's a clip screw, but where is it? Is it inside the cap down underneath the jewel? Any suggestions?

Just wanted to let anyone who might be looking for Steve and I in Ohio that we are not going to be there. Steve injured his back a couple of days ago and is still in a considerable amount of discomfort.
Not to mention the awful pain that he is causing me by not being at the Ohio Pen Show, one of my favorite shows.
Seriously though, we are really disappointed at not being able to be at this show, it is one of our favorites and hope all of you have a great time.
Keep us posted as to what is happening. At least we can enjoy the reviews. I will be stuck cleaning the office.

Dick Binder (richardspens.com) will do retipping for you. He does all the shaping and polishing himself and is every bit as good as John M. If retipping is required, he subcontracts that out, then gets the pen back with the raw tip and shapes/polishes the result himself. Go to his web site, get his email address, and tell him exactly what you need done. Tell him Waco sent you. As for Jerry, he's out of the pen-repair business; there were several threads on this in a.c.p-p which you may want to check out -- see the Google archives of that NG. WJD. |

| Parker pens to dream about
|
| |
11/1/2002: James Goodwin |
|
Yes, in addition to a Duofold in Sterling Ciscle, I have a couple in mind.
How about a reissue of the 1954 Parker Jotter with threaded barrel and pen clicker made in Sterling Silver with a 14 K Gold Plated clip of the 1954 vintage design?
How about a reissue of the T-1 series? This time the manufacture of titanium sections would be farmed to a company that has experience in crafting titanium products. All Parker would do is to add Gold clips and the requsite markings.
Will they come to reality? Dream on, but the harder you dream the more surprised you will become when the pens come to reality.
Cheers;
Jim |
